No one was more shocked than Ceitlyn Glenn from Effingham, Illinois, when her name was called as the next Miss Illinois Teen USA 2006. A first-timer for pageants, she never expected to be given such a wonderful opportunity to represent the state of Illinois .

The 17-year-old Junior at Effingham High School is usually found in a pair of spikes circling the track for her daily workout for the track team or spiking the ball for her school’s volleyball team instead of wearing heels. She has a jam packed schedule as an athlete playing on both her track and volleyball teams and outside of school for the Effingham Crossroads Elite Volleyball Club. She also keeps busy being Class Treasurer and an anchor for her school’s television station, WEHS.

She is the daughter of Sally and Scott Glenn of Effingham and has one brother, Rick, and two sisters, Jennifer and Kellie. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and watching Laguna Beach, tubing on Lake Sara, or going to the theater.

Born with a congenital condition called Pectus Excavatum, Ceitie had two surgeries at ages 10 and 12 to correct the condition. She believes those experiences during that time not only taught her the value of family and friends but also taught her about herself, making her who she is today.

During her year, Ceitie would like to focus on Drug and Alcohol Awareness through a goals program and continue to work with the Mentoring Program and the FISH Organization in her hometown.

After graduation from high school, Ceitlyn will pursue her dream to be a Broadcast Journalist for ESPN Live and would one day love to sit 2nd chair to Dick Vitale for an Illini Game. Go Illini!
